"Ugh"

Well life has been interesting here for the last month! It has been full of tylenol, tissues, vomiting, ear aches, coup...the list goes on. Ever since the 2nd of January someone has been sick in our home. Jaden was first with an earache and fever. When he finally started to feel better, a week later, Hailey caught his bug and it turned into coup. She sounded like she had been a smoker for the last 50 years! It was so sad because she had such a hard time breathing that you could see the panic on her face when she tried to get enough air. Her bug lasted about another week, then Brandon got it, and Jaden got it AGAIN! Jaden was worse this time around. He had an earache, runny nose, horrible cough, vomiting, and his top 4 teeth are coming in! I feel so bad for the little guy. He would just curl up in your arms and wimper. He is starting to feel better, we are having a hard time catching up with the runny nose though, but he is feeling more himself. Last night though Hailey came into our room about 4:30, and she was burning up. Her temperature was 102.4 and she was complaining that her ear hurt. UGH! My poor children :( I feel so helpless when they are sick, I wish I could just take it from them. Luckily I have not caught it, which if you know me this is shocking. I am always the first to catch anything going around. It is pretty scary for me when my kids are sick, because of the prescriptions they are given. I am allergic to basically every antibiodic (thats what the Dr's say anyway), so I hate to be the one to give them their medicine. Jaden was prescribed amoxicillin, and he does not like taking it. When I give it to him, he throws a fit and just spits it everywhere. I have to wear gloves, and pinch my lips tight so none of it gets on me, or accidentally in my mouth. I carry an Epipen with me everywhere, I just hope to never have to use it. It is all scary, and nice when we don't have to go to the Dr at all. We have been blessed so much to have Brandon, a worthy preisthood holder, in our home. H1N1 was going around in our area, and it seemed like everyone was getting it. So we had Brandon give us all a blessing, and we said our prayers, and thankfully none of us got it.
Other then feeling sick, life has been good. We enjoyed the holidays so much, and can't believe they have come and been long gone. Brandon had the whole week off of work between Christmas and New Years, so we decided to take a trip down to Salt Lake City. We went with my brother Jared, and his wife Serena. We had a BLAST! We got an amazing deal on a hotel right by Gateway mall, and just played for three days! Hailey had the chance to spend the night at my sisters house in Provo. She had so much fun at Aunt Jenns and Uncle Jeffs. We don't get to see them as often as we like, so it was a real treat for her. Having one kid for a day was really strange for us. It was so much easier trying to keep one child happy instead of two. The guys had fun keeping eachother entertained while Serena and I went shopping. Jaden figured out how to "properly" crawl in Utah as well. He is such a good roller and gets around so quick that way, he didn't want to try crawling. If he wanted to go somewhere he knew how to get there by rolling. People in our ward would call him the "steam roller". But now that he is crawling he is getting around faster, and into more trouble. I forgot about the path of destruction a crawler leaves in their path. He is so funny. I remember Hailey was terrified of the vacuum when she was a baby, I would have to hold her most of the time while I did it or she would scream at the top of her lungs. Jaden on the other hand will chase me while I am vacuuming and when he catches me he smacks it! It is so funny watching him try to figure this noise maker out. I love watching their personalities develop and how different one child is from another. I LOVE being a mom!

Happy Anniversary!!

I can't believe it! Brandon and I have been married for FOUR years! It is funny to look back at our wedding pictures and see how young we look. I love this picture because of the way he is holding me. This picture shows our relationship. The way he would hold me when we were dating let me know that I would always be taken care of. He always knows how to make me feel better, and know that everything is going to be okay. We have two beautiful children that love their daddy very much. I love this man! He is the best, most perfect guy for me, and I am looking forward to eternity to spend with him.

Late I know...but here's Christmas!!

Christmas was so much fun this year!! Hailey is getting old enough to catch onto the magic of the season. Jaden was so confused on Christmas and I can't blame him. For a whole month we have been telling him not to touch the presants, and now we are telling him to go to town. It didn't take him long to get the hang of it though...

Hailey LOVES dress-up!!

Cristmas Eve we tried to get a picture in her new pj's, but she was too tired after a long day visiting family so this was all we got.
Cheesy face!! This was her gift from Santa. It was so great of him to get up at 4:00 am Black Friday to wait in line to get it ;)
(Totally worth it, after seeing her face!!!)

Tis the Season!

Well, we have been so busy this month it has flown by. I have been meaning to upload some pictures of what we have been doing, so here are a bunch!

Hailey with Santa at our ward Christmas party. She was a little nervous to get near Santa. So we had Jaden go first, this made it easier for her I guess, because she got right on his lap aftr him.

Jaden just stared at him for about 30 seconds and then he was DONE! He turned and looked at me and gave me his pouty lip.

Kids with their candy canes. This was Jadens first and he LOVED it!

Jaden makes this face all the time. He scrunches his nose and snorts, it is so funny. We have been trying to catch it on camera.

Dinner at Wingers, he loved the Asphault Pie!

Hailey and her Aunt Celeste, just about to go shopping!

I was trying to take a picture of the kids with their Christmas tree Grandma Esplin gave them. Hailey would smile right until the last second when she would pull these faces!
Hailey Being Mary at our Ward Christmas Party.

The whole Nativity, these kids were sooo CUTE!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Oysters?

Ok, so my husband brought home some oysters he was given from a guy at work, and I have NO idea what to do with them. I have never cooked oysters, nor have I ever tried one. They are no longer in the shell, they are just in a plastic container, and there is a bunch of them. They look slimy and kind of gross. I am a texture person when it comes to food, so this may be difficult. Anyway, I need HELP! If anyone has a recipe for oysters, please pass it along. Thanks!

Christmas already?....I can't believe it!!

Christmas is next week!! I feel like it was just halloween. This is my favorite time of year, the whole season! I love listening to the music, the lights, smell of baking goodies, and watching the snow fall from our living room window. Christmas has been so fun with a 3 year old running around. The first thing Hailey does every morning is turn on the Christmas lights on our tree, she has also taken on the responsibility of keeping Jaden away from the presants. As soon as he gets close enough to touch, Hailey will grab him by the ankles and drag him across the room, and then proceed to tell him, "No touch till Christmas Jaden!!" If he comes back around to touch them again she will roll him over and over until he is on the other side of the room. It is so funny to watch.
I am on the activities commitee in our ward, and for the Christams party this year we decided to have a live Nativity. We had about 5 three year olds play the parts. Hailey was asked to be Mary and it was the cutest thing! We asked someone in our ward to read Luke 2 and the children were all dressed up sitting on stage surounding a baby Jesus. They didn't have to say anything or even move, but we had some cute reactions. We were nervous they would panic being in front of 200 people, but luckily there were no tears. Hailey would wave to daddy, and stroke baby Jesus's head, it was priceless!!
A tradition I have been doing for the last 6 years or so has been takng my little sister, Celeste, Christmas shopping. We have had so much fun getting together and just spending time together. My kids were able to tag along this year, and they LOVED hanging out with Aunt Celeste! We went to dinner and Hailey had to sit by her. Every 30 seconds she had something new to tell Celeste.
A favorite memory of mine at Christmas time when I was growing up was when all of us kids would pile in the car and my parents would take us to go look at the lights on candy cane lane. This has been something Brandon and I have started to do since Hailey was old enough to enjoy them. One night for FHE we went to dinner, looked at the lights and then went to Hallmark to pick out Jadens, " Baby First Christmas" ornament. It was so much fun. It is still crazy to me to think that I am now in the adults shoes and trying to make the holidays special for my kids. I can't remember gifts that I have been given for Christmases growing up, but I do remember the traditions, that is what made them so special. Brandon and I have talked about our favorite traditions growing up, and what ones we want to carry on with our kids. I know it will take a couple years to try them out, and see which ones work best, but I am excited because I have an AMAZING family to share the Holidays with. Merry Christmas!

"Sweetest Guy Ever!!

So, I have the best husband in the WORLD! Brandon went to an auction in Shelley on Wednesday. This is something he has enjoyed doing whenever he gets the chance to go.
Well, this year he bought something for ME! He called me and told me he bought a mirror at the auction, and hoped I would like it. When he got home he pulled this HUGE, HEAVY mirror out of the car...

I absolutly LOVE IT! It was such a nice surprise and so sweet of him to bid on this for me. It is 4' by 3', and only cost him $35! I have seen mirrors like this in one of my favorite stores and this would cost around $150-$200!! Good job Babe!!
