Tis the Season!

Well, we have been so busy this month it has flown by. I have been meaning to upload some pictures of what we have been doing, so here are a bunch!

Hailey with Santa at our ward Christmas party. She was a little nervous to get near Santa. So we had Jaden go first, this made it easier for her I guess, because she got right on his lap aftr him.

Jaden just stared at him for about 30 seconds and then he was DONE! He turned and looked at me and gave me his pouty lip.

Kids with their candy canes. This was Jadens first and he LOVED it!

Jaden makes this face all the time. He scrunches his nose and snorts, it is so funny. We have been trying to catch it on camera.

Dinner at Wingers, he loved the Asphault Pie!

Hailey and her Aunt Celeste, just about to go shopping!

I was trying to take a picture of the kids with their Christmas tree Grandma Esplin gave them. Hailey would smile right until the last second when she would pull these faces!
Hailey Being Mary at our Ward Christmas Party.

The whole Nativity, these kids were sooo CUTE!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Oysters?

Ok, so my husband brought home some oysters he was given from a guy at work, and I have NO idea what to do with them. I have never cooked oysters, nor have I ever tried one. They are no longer in the shell, they are just in a plastic container, and there is a bunch of them. They look slimy and kind of gross. I am a texture person when it comes to food, so this may be difficult. Anyway, I need HELP! If anyone has a recipe for oysters, please pass it along. Thanks!

Christmas already?....I can't believe it!!

Christmas is next week!! I feel like it was just halloween. This is my favorite time of year, the whole season! I love listening to the music, the lights, smell of baking goodies, and watching the snow fall from our living room window. Christmas has been so fun with a 3 year old running around. The first thing Hailey does every morning is turn on the Christmas lights on our tree, she has also taken on the responsibility of keeping Jaden away from the presants. As soon as he gets close enough to touch, Hailey will grab him by the ankles and drag him across the room, and then proceed to tell him, "No touch till Christmas Jaden!!" If he comes back around to touch them again she will roll him over and over until he is on the other side of the room. It is so funny to watch.
I am on the activities commitee in our ward, and for the Christams party this year we decided to have a live Nativity. We had about 5 three year olds play the parts. Hailey was asked to be Mary and it was the cutest thing! We asked someone in our ward to read Luke 2 and the children were all dressed up sitting on stage surounding a baby Jesus. They didn't have to say anything or even move, but we had some cute reactions. We were nervous they would panic being in front of 200 people, but luckily there were no tears. Hailey would wave to daddy, and stroke baby Jesus's head, it was priceless!!
A tradition I have been doing for the last 6 years or so has been takng my little sister, Celeste, Christmas shopping. We have had so much fun getting together and just spending time together. My kids were able to tag along this year, and they LOVED hanging out with Aunt Celeste! We went to dinner and Hailey had to sit by her. Every 30 seconds she had something new to tell Celeste.
A favorite memory of mine at Christmas time when I was growing up was when all of us kids would pile in the car and my parents would take us to go look at the lights on candy cane lane. This has been something Brandon and I have started to do since Hailey was old enough to enjoy them. One night for FHE we went to dinner, looked at the lights and then went to Hallmark to pick out Jadens, " Baby First Christmas" ornament. It was so much fun. It is still crazy to me to think that I am now in the adults shoes and trying to make the holidays special for my kids. I can't remember gifts that I have been given for Christmases growing up, but I do remember the traditions, that is what made them so special. Brandon and I have talked about our favorite traditions growing up, and what ones we want to carry on with our kids. I know it will take a couple years to try them out, and see which ones work best, but I am excited because I have an AMAZING family to share the Holidays with. Merry Christmas!

"Sweetest Guy Ever!!

So, I have the best husband in the WORLD! Brandon went to an auction in Shelley on Wednesday. This is something he has enjoyed doing whenever he gets the chance to go.
Well, this year he bought something for ME! He called me and told me he bought a mirror at the auction, and hoped I would like it. When he got home he pulled this HUGE, HEAVY mirror out of the car...

I absolutly LOVE IT! It was such a nice surprise and so sweet of him to bid on this for me. It is 4' by 3', and only cost him $35! I have seen mirrors like this in one of my favorite stores and this would cost around $150-$200!! Good job Babe!!

My baby is THREE!!

Well, my little girl turned 3 years old on November 30th. Time has gone by so fast it is sad, and crazy at the same time. Hailey has been such a blessing in our home. She is so beautiful, funny, imaginative, creative, funny, sweet, funny, and a great sister to her little brother. Hailey loves playing dress up, helping mommy cook, wrestling her brother, and giving daddy big hugs and kisses when he gets home from work each day.

Hailey has started preschool this year at Bonneville. She LOVES it!! The day we got her back pack she had to wear it in the store, and that night in her pj's. She will parade around the house in her pj's and ask me when she gets to go to school. She has been singing her ABC's and asking everyone to join in. She skips some letters and says B at least three times, but she is catching on. She is so proud of herself, as am I.

We had so much fun a couple weeks ago making a fort in our living room. We would hide from dragons and watch Mickey Mouse on the TV. Jaden wasn't sure what was going on, but he had fun anyway. Hailey is wearing one of her tutu's, she is always putting on some dressup anything and imagining some fairy tale. The other day she told me I was Jasmine and she was the princess. Then she scowled at me and said, "Jasmine, how dare YOU!!" and then put her hands on her hips. I was trying to play along, but it was just so funny. She will say things and Brandon and I just laugh, I have no idea where she gets it. I love you Hailey!!

"TIMEOUT!!"

Hailey is so funny! So I was in the kitchen making breakfast for the kids and I hear Hailey in the other room yelling. I couldn't figure out why she was so upset. Well I hear her say, "NO HIT Me!" Then I hear some thumping down the stairs. A minute later Hailey comes in the kitchen with a frustrated look on her face. So I ask her what happened. She told me, "Elmo no being nice to me. He hit me, so he is in timeout." I just laughed! Well, her little stuffed Elmo must have been really pushing her buttons because he was in timeout for the rest of the day.

Catching Up

It has been so long since my last post, I feel like I better catch up. We have been so busy with work and kids that I haven't had a chance to update my blog. The kids are growing so fast and learning new things everyday I can't keep up. Hailey will turn 3 on the 30th of this month and she is getting soo excited. We have had so many birthdays in our family lately, and she is having a hard time understanding why it can't be her birthday. I was telling Hailey that we were going down to grandmas house for a birthday and she told me that it was her birthday too. I told her, "not yet..." she then got a determined look on her face and said, " Grandma needs to take turns." It was such a funny thing to say I couldn't help but laugh. I can't believe how fast these three years have gone. Lately I have been organizing Haileys' photo album, and it has been so much fun to look at all of her pictures and see how much she has grown.

Jaden is 7 months!!! I can not believe that! He is soo much fun. He is moving all over the place. He has figured out how to get his knees up under him and then rocks back and forth. If He really wants to get somewhere fast He just rolls. We were in Sunday School and I set Jaden down on the floor with a toy for the prayer, well after the prayer we open our eyes and see Jaden on the other side of the gym. He has also figured out how to push himself backwards. I found him stuck under Haileys bed fussing because he couldn't figure out how to get out. He also got trapped under the kitchen table, he somehow weaved himself inbetween chairs.

Now here are some random pictures of the kids, they are so cute!!

Little Stud

Jaden was a dragon for halloween, soo CUTE!!

"Scrumptious!!"

My little two year old used the word "Scrumptious," today!! We were sitting on the couch eating some popcorn and Hailey turned to me and said, " This popcorn is scrumptious mommy." What!?! I started laughing and so she asked me why I was laughing at her. I told her she was so smart. Now that is a big word not only for a two year old, but I can't remember the last time I used it, so I can't take credit for it either. Let me explain. About a month ago I was cleaning my kitchen and Hailey was watching Sesame Street in the living room. The word of the day was scrumptious. They had Jessica Alba holding up various foods and saying how scrumptious they were. I didn't think much of it until today when she said it. (That is how I knew what she was saying.) I am so proud of my smart little girl!!
Hailey is constantly making me laugh. This last week our family night lesson was on being honest and obeying our parents. We would ask her a question and she pulls this face...
This is her thinking face. Then she would say, "I have an idea!" She would then tell us some random story about a frog and then showed us how a frog jumps. We would ty to get her to focus again and she acted all into the lesson, we would then ask her another question. Again she perks up, " I have an idea!!" only to continue telling us about this frog. Does anyone have any good FHE lessons suitable for a 2 year old? I went to Deseret Book and got a book on FHE geared towards kids, I hope she will like it.

Hailey had a blast a couple weeks ago at her cousin Desiree's Superhero themed birthday party. The kids were asked to dress up as their favorite superhero. Hailey is loving the princesses right now so we didn't have any superhero anything. I procrastinated finding a costume until the morning of the party so I was searching for anything that would work. Thus the creation of...Super Elmo!!

We created our own little superhero. Hailey stayed in her costume all afternoon, it was so cute!!

This is my little future missionary!! This is a random picture but it was so cute I had to post it.

"Time goes by WAY too fast!!"

Rolling around together
Watching Elmo together. Hailey has some crazy hair in the morning.

She didn't believe us when we told her that he didn't have any teeth yet.
Giving BIG hugs! (We are still learning the word "soft.")

Our little Jaden man is on the loose! He has figured out how to roll from his back to his belly really well now. I will put him on the floor and 30 seconds later he is across the room. It is cute to see how frustrated he gets when he has rolled up to a wall, or our entertainment center and can't roll anymore. You can see the wheels turning in his head as he tries to figure out an alternate route. I can not believe my baby is going to be 6 months on sunday!! It has gone by way too fast. Hailey will be 3 in a couple months and I can't believe that either. I have to say that there isn't a cuter thing in the world then the bond between siblings when they are so little. Hailey LOVES Jaden she will run to tell me when she hears him crying after waking up from a nap. Then she runs to his crib yelling, "I'm coming Jaden!" she climbs in and gives him hugs telling him, "It's ok Jaden, it's ok."

She is usually pretty good at sharing her toys with him also. One day I was using my food processor to make dinner. Hailey was standing on her stool, like she usually does when I am cooking, right next to me. And I had jaden in his bouncy seat. He was watching me totally entertained with the noise it was making. Well Hailey was getting a little nervous with the loud noise and went to get her pooh bear to comfort her. She came and stood right by me clutching her bear, then Jaden started to get fussy. Without me saying a word, Hailey got down off her stool and gave Jaden her pooh bear. She came back and told me that he was scared so he needed her pooh bear. (sigh) I love my little girl. She is such a nurturer, anytime she can see that someone is sad she will ask where it hurts and then kiss it better. Or tell you, "It's ok." with a big smile on her face, as she wraps her arms around your neck. My sister Jennifer came up from Utah one weekend and got the chance to spend time with her. She told me that, "Hailey is very special because anytime you are around her you can't help but be happy, and that is a gift." That comment made me a very proud Mamma ;)

I LOVE my kids! I am truly blessed. They are little angels sent from Heavenly Father, and I get to be their Mom here on earth. I couldn't ask for a more amazing gift then that.

"Green with Envy"...literally!!

YEA!! The day is finally here. We are getting GRASS today, well hydroseed actually. We have been working sooo hard on our yard for the last couple months, it will be nice to be done. I am sick of the dirt and mud in my house. I have been admiring peoples yards and how great it would be to have grass. Hailey is even doing it. We will be driving in the car and she will get all excited, " Look Mom...Grass." I know it is my fault, that is all we have been talking about for weeks now. I am looking forward to going outside and running around with my kids.

Here it goes...

Well I finally did it, I started a blog. I will admit I have no idea what I am doing, and as far as my computer skills go, this will be a learn as I go process. I have enjoyed reading various blogs and staying in touch with friends through blogging. I figured it was time I did the same.
Brandon and I got married January 6, 2006, in the Idaho Falls Temple. We lived in Shelley for two and a half years. Before moving up to Idaho Falls last September. We have a little girl Hailey Grace who is 2 1/2, (She will tell anyone who asks). She is a burst of sunshine. She is such a talker and loves to dance! She is always putting on her tutu's and dancing around saying, " I'm Cinderella and you the Queen." She is a great big sister to Jaden Dale who was born March 27 of this year. He is quite the stud. He was born weighing in at 10 lbs 2 oz. He hasn't stopped growing since, at 5 1/2 months he weighs 21 lbs. He is such a momma's boy and I love it!! He is so smiley and loves girls. He will smile at them with this crooked smile that makes your heart melt. We have been so blessed to have these two children a part of our family. They make life exciting everyday by learning a new word, or cuddling with Mom and Dad. It's moments like these that make life beautiful.
